I just bought an RB1100AHx2 and I am trying to get it setup in the way I originally planned. Here is a rundown on the way I currently have it configured:
I have Ether12 as the WAN port which connects to our already existing LAN which has a subnet of 2.x. So on that network, the WAN port of this particular router occupies 192.168.2.99.
I have Ether1 on the router as the port which has the ‘new’ subnet connected to it. The subnet is 3.x. So the IP address of Ether1 is 192.168.3.1.
Clients from the 192.168.3.1 subnet are able to ping devices and clients on the 192.168.2.1 network just fine, but not the other way around. I cannot ping devices or clients on the 192.168.3.1 network from the 192.168.2.1 network. Basically, I just want to be able to reach devices and clients on the 192.168.3.1 network for a variety of reasons, including ping, printing, file sharing, etc, etc.
I am using winbox to configure the router so far and I would rather keep it that way, so based on that, what steps and configurations do I need to take in order to allow for the 192.168.2.1 network to communicate with the 192.168.3.1 network?
Thanks!
