Hello, new to routerOS. I bought hap ax2 router. I first turned it on without wan cable plugged in just to make some primary configuration.
I am connecting to the router through wireless.
DHCP was enabled by default. I have set up the DHCP reservations and some NAT rules just like they are in my current router (not mikrotik).
First it was a pain getting the 5Ghz network running (turns out it is a MUST to set the country for it to work)
After switching the routers and connecting wan cable into mikrotik it received the IP address and DNS servers from the ISP.
Trying to load any page resulted in timeout as no hostname could be resolved (unless it was cached in OS)
Checking the ipconfig /all showed that DNS server is the mikrotik router.
I changed the DNS server in the router to 8.8.8.8 but nothing changed. I could verify that after reconnecting the wifi, the new dns server was used.
I thought that mikrotik was blocking the requests so i added two NAT rules. One to allow traffic on UDP 53 to 8.8.8.8 and another to allow trafic on UDP 53 from 8.8.8.8
It is still not working and hostnames cannot be resolved.
What am i doing wrong here? There is only one wired client, the rest are wireless and i can’t check if wired client can resolve hostnames, so i have no idea if problem is only for wireless clients or no.
Also one more problem: i am unable to use webfig. I open the routers login page, enter admin+password and after clicking login it just timesout.
Current router OS installed is 7.13.4, Router had v7.6 out of the box (not sure exactly)
