Nested virtualization with KVM

Hi all,

I couldn’t find a positive report about anyone running (RouterOS) KVM instances inside a RouterOS system which itself is a KVM guest. I’m running multiple nested KVM instances for testing purposes using plain Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, so nested virtualization with KVM is definitely working in my environment. However RouterOS seems to prevent this on purpose for reasons unknown. I once ran a nested KVM instance inside a RouterOS VMware guest, so in general this is working.

Does anyone, including MT staff, have more infos on this? Would be a shame if this doesn’t work for political reasons.

nested virtualization is not supported.

Is something changed in topic of support nested virt under ROS host? (I am running CHR).
