I’m using Netinstall v6.38.5 with MIPSBE v6.38.5 with a RB532. routerBOOT 2.18 router OS 6.32.4
Due to a lost password, we’re using netinstall to flash a new image onto the RB532. When you power the RB532, it connects to netinstall, gets an IP, resolves MAC address and the **** begin to show up, however on the PC, immediately after it resolves the MAC address, we get this error: “Find Resource: The specified resource name cannot be found in the image file. (1814)”. Eventually, the RB532 says “Falling back to small packet size” then more ***** until “kernel loading failed”. Then the RB532 reboots. However, this time because netinstall has crashed, it will fail after “boot p protocol …”
I tried this using 3 different laptops running Windows 7, using 2 different sets of serial cables.
If anyone has any help they can give us, I would be ever so grateful.
Thanks so much, good catch. I have all of the router OS images in the folder, however, we’re not getting to the point where it asks you which firmware to use.
For the record, my folder has MPSLE 6.32.4 and MPSLE 5.26.
We’re still having the same issue stated in the above post. Do you have any other ideas?
It doesn’t worth to spend time with 532. Use some 433 instead and forget the mipsle… Or take the serial console cable and try to format flash and some other netinstalls…
Well, actually we already have the 532, and we’re working on this for a client so we don’t have the option to just buy another one. We typically use a more current version, but this is what they have and they don’t want to buy anything else for this property. They don’t recall the password for it, so this is where we’re at. We have to get into it somehow! I appreciate any advice anyone can give me. Thanks in advance!
And what is needed to add. The work time spent at this is much more expensive than putting there newer device. I already replaced all mipsle devices just because they were discontinued in ros support, even they still worked at their places well.
