Hi! Is it possible that I can reinstall mikrotik sw with some trick, if my ether1 port is not working on my rb532. Is it possible to use PXE booting on ether2 or ether3? My netinstall didn`t see the board which is trying to boot with bootp
Or anyone got some solution, to get the board running, it now has a booting failure with a kernel panic…
I would like to know also, I have several rb532’s like this and a bunch of 133c’s that did this and one 411 that did this same thing. The ether1 port is just dead.
How did the 532s ether1 go dead? I have several in the field in hard to reach locations and want to ensure this doesn’t happen to me. Was it a result of an upgrade or something else?
it`s got dead in a lightning, I use a POE but the power adapter does not have a grounded power cord
it is still working with POE but there is no link in the ether1 port
The same was happen to me some time ago - exactly in the same situation.
The VIA VT6106h LAN controller is probably damaged (in RB532 are 2 controllers - first behind RS232 and second behind ether2) - in my situation the damaged one is heating and routerboard resets itself every 2-5minutes.
Does anyone tried (or anyone can tell me) if I buy new vt6106h chip and mount it on the RB (I’ve solder skills ) …will ethernet port works again ?
