Hi Guys,
When I did a full restore from one CCR to another, it took the original CCRs mac address. Is this to be expected? I see this can be fixed by using console cable going to the routerboot menu and resetting the memory.
Is it possible to access this without a console/null modem cable?
Thanks.

Read the wiki. NEVER use backup/restore from one device to another. That is for the exact same device only. ALWAYS use export/import.
That being said, to fix your mac addresses, use the “Reset MAC Address” button. If that doesn’t work, change it manually in the terminal or ssh.
Good to know.
When I do an import, the router disconnects me and I only get about half way through the import. I am connected via mac.
are you pasting or using a file?
import it as a file, not a copy/paste.
import file=myfile.rsc
Importing from the file cut me out of winbox and only imported half the config.
I formatted the flash which gave my mac back and imported the config through serial (copy/paste) which worked fine.
