Hi, I recently had a AP/routerboard 153 compromised and tried to do a wipe/reinstall.
I hooked up my null modem cable, booted into the router bios. From there I did a reformat on the nand disk. Then I rebooted and tried to use the netinstall app to do a clean install. I do get the router to boot over the bootp proto… jump to kernel code and then it loads the “Waiting for installation server…” prompt. From there I select the router in the list in netinstall, load the package files and click “install”… only the application returns the router status to ready and no install occurs/no install progress bar movement, nothing. A reboot of the routerboard shows no success.
I have tried this over and over with no success. Am I doing something wrong? I have followed the wiki directions. Any help would be great…
P.S.
Would installing a compact flash card and trying to install on the cf be a possible workaround.
Tried the netinstall procedure on WinXP and Vista with no firewall active, etc.
Is it possible I need to upgrade the router bios? (currently ver 2.7)
