last series of netinstall 3.3x.x use unstable ethernet driver on 92x ac boards:
When Routerboard boot with backup or regular bios, all working well,
also inside any version of routeros 3.3x.x all working fine,
BUT
during and only on netinstall on 921 ac and 922 ac (also NetMetal 5) board,
auto detection on ethernet do not work and I’m forced to use 10 full duplex on my laptop
and on some other device with have only 10/100 LAN
On gigabit Laptop I do not notice any problem.
this happen on:
921UAGS-5SHPacD
and
922UAGS-5SHacD
on both MMCX Board and NetMetal versions.
Have you submitted email to support including a supout?
Supout? how do supout when only “netinstall” is running inside the routerboard?
Is not one configuration problem,
RouterOS during netinstall is not running,
and is not one hardware problem, because happen on all new devices and only when netinstall is running,
never during boot or during regular working.
Upgrade bios or use backup bios and/or RouterOS with format not solve the problem
Your reply is like you have read only superficially my post,
and replied with “call-center” type copy-and-paste reply.
I understand your frustration because I have been under similar situation (working out problems that aren’t under my control while under pressure), but I can’t see any other way of being of help, this has to be fixed by Mikrotik…
Sometimes we have been struggling so hard debugging an specific problem that all the details become second nature for us, missing the fact the rest don’t. It happens to me also. And I use to resort to colleagues for pointing me out.
I read your post and I am aware you cannot make a supout while in netinstall, however a supout provides the “whole picture” about a given device regarding firmware, ros version, internal hardware details, operational parameters etc, which they will need to reproduce and look into this issue anyway, even if not generated while the problem is surfacing, they still need it.
The only suggestion I could give is to try using a switch, or other laptops, but I’m sure you already tried that and would be only a workaround; the problem should be fixed anyway so Mikrotik has to be aware of this…
rextended did you see this on 6.35.30rc changelog?:
*) ethernet - fixed NetMetal and DynaDish linking at 10/100Mbps (introduced in 6.35rc);
yes, “is fresh”
It’s the 2nd consecutive day I post one problem and some hours later fix go out…
I hope the fix is for netinstall also, later I try again.

let us know if it fixes netinstall… that’s a serious issue for remote recovery.
