NetInstall ... Waiting for drivers

I’m trying to use the latest NetInstall to upgrade an x86 to v3.4.

I created a floppy with NetInstall and then put it in the x86. Message comes up listing all the NICs MAC addresses etc and a message ‘Waiting for Drivers’.

I can’t work out how to either skip this, or put the drivers in.

There is nothing unusual about the NIC’s and the standard installed drivers on v 2.9.43 currently on the system work with them just fine.

All help welcome, Thanks

I had this problem, it was the system I was running Netinstall from. I tried another workstation and it worked great. Also I found using PXE boot was even more efficient than the floppy, so try setting your bios to boot from ethernet.

Another thing to try is v3.3 Just in case, as some x86 systems have experienced issues.

Version 3.3 sorted it out. There was a long pause with the Waiting for Drivers message … then it ran OK.

Not the same subject but I ticked the ‘Keep Settings’ box and it didn’t.

Luckily I had also backed everything up before trying the upgrade.

Always backup! always! lol
