I have a hardware issue that is driving me crazy. I have a Mikrotik CRS317-1G-16S+. It refuses to accept a NetInstall reinstall of any ROS File.
I can get NetInstall to start and the CRS is listed in the equipment list. The ros is shown below. As soon as I select the CRS the ROS file is removed. No mattrer what I do the same thing happens.
Help Please.
Are you trying to do Netinstall from the Windows or Linux machine ? This happened to me few times and there were two reasons, either I downloaded .npk file for the wrong architecture or there was special character in username.
also always remember to set the client firewall (windows or linux) to allow netinstall to access the network correctly and just for sake keeping, if possible, only have you ethernet interface active on which the MT device is connected. i often have fallen to that pit in the past (:
This sounds as mismatch in device architecture (the one reported by device to netinstall and the one of the npk file). CRS317-1G-16S+ is arm (the 32-bit one, not arm64).
Thank you forthe information. I am going to try the ideas that you sugest. I will be backn here with the results today.
I am sorry for the delay in my results. I had a medical issue that prevented me from answering.
MY RESULTS WERE …SUCCESSFUL!
All that had to be done was to use the 32bit version of ROS on the fiber switch.
