Hi,
I have a customer that want to use netmeeting.
I have given him fixed ip address via, 1 to 1 public to private ip mapping.
Everything wroks except the netmeeting.
When somebody makes call using netmeeting I see the call come to the router port where his computer is connected but it will just not connect.
Does anybody have any insite on how I can make netmeeting work with 1 to 1 public to private ip address mapping.

I’ve alwaysed used the netmap action of a DST-NAT Nat rule.
just find out which ports netmeeting uses and map those to his private ip.
more safe too

A 1:1 mapping should fix that since every port is being forwarded. Now check firewall on MT and on Windows box - maybe windows firewall is blocking.

There is no firewall on the computer.
Well, I have 1 to 1 mapping, I do see the data comming to the router but it does not establish the connection. It has to do with ip address being part of the data.
Apperently netmeeting computer has to be configured with the public ip address and if we are doing 1 to 1 then it does not work.
Having said that some router companies have figured out how to make it work with DMZ, trend micro, 2 wire etc. I was hoping somebody have figured out with mikrotik.

Ah, the IP of the machine is embedded in the h323 payload … I see what you mean. SIP somewhat does the same thing.

Try using the h323 ip helper in Mikrotik - not sure it will fix it but should.
Sam
h323 in netmiting can’t work in MT with NAT port, or DMZ
only work with routing packet
desktopsharing work, but not everytime
chat work everytime
i try everything from v.2.6.7 to v.2.9.27
