I am opening this thread to get assistance for how to add a 2.4 ghz card to the NetMetal 5. I need to offer this band as well as 5 ghz using the NetMetal 5. All I am looking for is which addon card to buy and where to buy it. Hopefully that is not too overly complicated.

NetMetal 5 takes a miniPCIe card, which means you could add either R11e-2HPnD or R11e-2HnD. However you would need to attach 2,4GHz antennae somewhere (NetMetal 5 doesn’t have those already), which would most probably ruin all the weather-proof status of NetMetal 5.
Hmm, wonder if it makes more sense to sell/return this and go with something different. It’s in a covered garage so all that the concern would be is temperature. North East USA. We have seen it get down to -20 to -30 during the winter at times if that is of all a concern for somethin like a cAP.
Looks like the temps are in a good range for the cAP AC. But for longer range, is that the right AP?
It depends of the antenna that you use on your NetMetal.
