NetMetal 5 only license lvl 3 [issue fix is added to post]

I just got my two pieces of RB921UAGS-5SHPacT-NM and had a very nasty surprise, they got lvl 3 license. I’m so happy that, I can throw away both of them.

InoX, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused by this issue. It is very easy to get level4 on your router.


Access your router by Winbox, open System —> License and click “Update License Key”.
Instructions are available at the attachment.

Doesn’t work for the moment. I tried that before posting on forum. Should I try later?

Please post your serial number or contact support (support@mikrotik.com) with serial number and probably remote access to your router.

Is it enough? Remote is not posible until monday.

Two serials 4ED104C1320A and 4ED104E7EAF0 came with level3, we will fix keys for them and “Update License Key” should work after it.
4ED1045BF33A, this one comes with level4. Make sure you have switched it on and checked that level4 is available.

We have not received support output file, but applied few fixes to our acconting server.
Please try to “Update License Key” now, it should work fine for you.

Is there a cli command equivalent? I have hundreds to do and it is not where I would expect to find the command.

Same here,i got 2 both with level 3 and when i try to update license key i get the message
Failed:Upgrade for your key is not necessary!

I also have the same issue.

I received two Mikrotik NETMETAL-5s, and expected Level-4 licenses, but
only L3 are installed. They are not useful like this.

I tried following the instructions on this post (License update from winbox) but there was
no change. They are still at L3.

The serial numbers are:
4ED10469DBED/429
4ED104492514/429

Also the same issue… Have bought 2 x RB921UAGS-5SHPact’s. The Mikrotik site says Level 4, but i cant upgrade to Level 4… its stuck at leval 3… ASAP fix, I didnt pay extra for express freight for nothing…

I am Having the same issue with my 2x RB921UAGS-5SHPacT-NM.
What do I need to do to get the “As Advertised” Level 4 licensing. This is a massive inconvenience for me. Please help.

I have done what was suggested via settings , license then request level 4, but still stuck at level 3 in winbox…
