NetMetal ax - help

I tested Mikrotik netmetal ax with 2 hgo antennas.
At 300m of full optical visibility, the calculation gives a signal strength of - 62.7 dB (for Tx power 29 dB and antenna gain 5.5 dB at 5500MHz according to Mikrotik data).
However, when testing the signal strength at 50m is -80 dB, and at 300 m it cannot even be detected.
Netmetal was used with the factory configuration.
What is the problem?

Searching for Mikrotik HGO yields this: https://mikrotik.com/product/hgo_antenna_out … it’s a mediocre omni-directional antenna, not fit for long range point-to-point links that @OP seems to want to build. I already explained the problem in another thread, but @OP doesn’t seem to accept the reality.

A question for @limestel: which software are you using for calculations?

Mikrotiks own calculator @MCS0 says the same tbh

There’s one big problem with settings: unless you try real hard, country regulations regarding Tx power will kick in. On 5GHz different channels have different limits, e.g. in ETSI countries 5170-5330MHz allow 23dBm, 5490-5730 allow 30dBm and 5730-5875 allow only 14dBm. And that’s EIRP … substract antenna gain as set by configuration/antenna-gain (on NetMetal it’s probably 0).

The calculator on screenshot is configured for 33.5 dBm of EIRP. And already mentions Fresnel zone … which has to be clear entirely to achieve full signal strength. If you look along the link (LoS), Fresnel zone is a circle around it with diameter indicated (14 meters) … so radius of 7 meters around direct line. The size indicated is at half way between both points and gets smaller closer to either end point. More on Fresnel Zone on Fresnel Zone calculator.

You do not have 1 antenna Mikrotik, which passport data you use in the calculations. And your own design of 2 antennas, no one knows the parameters of such an antenna system. What you have invented will not work properly.
It is necessary to use ready-made antenna systems, for example mANT 15s, mANT30 PA. These antenna systems work only in the range of 5GHz, have two connectors separately for vertical and horizontal polarization.

The HGO antenna is a common antenna, definitely OMNIdirectional.
The idea is that you put the Netmetal on top of a pole in the middle of an area and you cover that area with a circle.

For a PtP link you want directional antennas, the more directional (narrow) they are, the better.
