Hi all. I have a link I want to make in the middle of nowhere (clean spectrum), about 8km. I use a lot of airfiber 5xhd units but this link is something i can experiment on. I’m wondering what the maximum 80Mhz channel one-way throughput anyone has seen on a Netmetal 5SHP or AC2 radio. Anyone seeing over 500Mbps in a PTP on this kit?
You’ll never get above about 300Mbps with the Netmetal because it only has 1-chain 802.11n/ac, and that’s best-case!
uh, it definitely has 2 chains, or even three on one model.
There’s one kind of Netmetal that only has 1 chain, but the others have 2/3. In that case, you can easily get a solid 450Mbps
have you done this? I’m experienced and I can do estimates, I want to know if that hardware will actually do it in the real.
There is one netmetal the triple model (5HSP) which should yield in the 430-450 range and extra would be bonus.
However that unit does not appear to have antennas and one would have to add them?? So the answer may be dependent upon the antennas purchased??
Not having any experience with these units I would say you probably need the

and the sleeve

If you want greater throughput, then suggest looking elsewhere as the MT 60Hz stuff is rated to 800m or 1500m depending upon product (nice 1Ghz throughput though).
I’m looking for what this specific hardware can do by someone who has testing it. Not looking for speculation or recommendations on other hardware.
Im not speculating on physical limitations.
Unless someone has used the netmetal themselves and can provide antenna used and ranges then you can continue to be in the dark.
Gluck!
