Hello, I am trying to power an ubiquiti af-11fx from my new net power 16p. It seems to reboot the af11fx just as the unit fully boots up. With no warning about a short circuit or a poe cirrent overload. The unit boots fine on provided poe injector.
af11fx calls for:
“Passive Power over Ethernet
Pins 1, 2, 4, 5 (+) and Pins 7, 8, 3, 6 (-)”
Did i misunderstand the brochure when it says it can do passive or 802.3? can it only do 802.3 at high voltage?
Will i have to use a 802.3 to passive converter?
I have tried with a crossover cable, same thing.

tl;dr:
the NP16 cannot deliver the ammount of power the AF11FX draws.
It was suggested that i test with a 54v adapter, but at least in my case, the NP16 still detects “undervoltage” and power-cycles the AF11
I just read through your thread. I’ll try to aquire a 56v power supply. But in my test it only ever reaches 12w(48v power supply @ 47.5 under load if memory serves) before power cycling. and there is no low voltage error message displayed. Do i need additional logging to get this message?
just tried with 55v. same thing. no error message of any kind. It must be because the af11fx uses 4 pin passive and the netpower16p only seems to supply 802.3af/at @ 48v+.
it looks like the converter from balticnetworks somebody listed in your thread is definitely required.
