netPower Lite 7R - DC power assistance

We have two Mikrotik netPower Lite 7R (CSS610-1Gi-7R-2S+OUT)

We are having difficulty locating either the 5x2mm barrel DC connector or what the size the connector is for the DC port 2. The Quickstart manual is nondescript for the DC port 2. Amazon does not appear to be a good source for either port as the barrel connectors they stock are 5x2.1 and the 3.81 we acquired from Amazon are clearly too small for the female DC 2 port on the device. And the Amazon 5.08 adapters visible do not match the port on the Mikrotik switch. Can someone please point me to the correct connector for either the DC barrel or the DC 2 port? We are attempting to power this via Mikrotik MTP250-26V94-OD Outdoor AC/DC Power Supply. We have tried what I believe is a 5x2.1 barrel and the device will power up but does not respond to ping or access via 192.168.88.1. It appears to be behaving as under powered. We are attempting to bench test two of these prior to deploying them. Both are behaving identically when powered via the one connector we have that gets us to some green lite activity. TIA for any specific information that is more descriptive than what is in the QuickStart manual :wink:

I believe all Mikrotik plug power connectors to be 5.5x2.1

I have no idea what Amazon reference are you using, but it is like the most common jack/plug size around.

These green things are known as phoenix contact pluggable 2 pin terminal block.

Mouser or digikey or rs components keep them. Measure the ptich and compare with the catalogues.

I am using one for my netpower lite, but I thought it came with the switch, as I dont remember buying one.

Thank you both! The Phoenix link is exactly what I needed. Every 5.08mm connector on Amazon has a bridge between the two male posts. The only PCB connectors I could find on Amazon without the bridge are 3.81mm pitch (and too small). As an FYI the QuickStart references 5.5x2mm not 5.5x2.1. 5.5x2.1 is much more common (also readily available on Amazon). I'm not 100% sure, but I'm 99.9% confident the 5.5x2.1 is exactly what we tried on both switches. Both switches are powering up with that barrel, but then not responding to ping or login requests via the 192.168.88.1 address. We've done a factory reset to both devices thinking that maybe we were sold refurb'd / previously deployed switches and they may have been assigned IPs already. But that didn't work either... I've ordered some of the Phoenix connectors @jaclaz pointed me to. I'll report back if that gets us up and running. That way the next guy that buys the netPower Lite 7R switches off Amazon and ends up with no more hair to tear out might find this as a solution.

Are they visible in winbos neighbours? Even though only swos not routeros they do show in winbox.

False contacts should only be possible if you use a 5.5x2.5 plug in a 5.5x2.1 socket.
But there are only these two sizes in the standard:

The 5.5x2 Is a typo.

About the Phoenix contact connector the most common pitches are 3.81 and 5.08. (there Is also 3.5 but It Is less common)

Surely It Is one of the two, the RB5009 uses surely the 5.08, I have the doubt about your device, from the photo It looks smaller, but It Is hard to say in any case It Is easy to check with the device in your hands.

Since the device Is a switch all ports should be good to connect, what you report Is unusual, it Is improbable that not enough current goes through the connector, if the lights are on It should work.

Apologies for all the posts.. But this is the Phoenix part # 1836079 (no bridge). Who knew there were so many variations of PCBs.

This is the 3.81mm which is clearly too small. Second image is what all the 5.08mm look like that Amazon sells. Note the bridge between the two ports. The Phoenix part # 1836079 is a 5.08 with no bridge. I'm hoping that's going to be the winner. (New user I'll need to put the second image into another post.

I'd buy we may be attempting to connect with a 5.5x2.5. The wiki link you provided is great, Thank you. Here's the copy/paste from the Quickstart: "Direct-input power jack, (5.5 mm outside and 2 mm inside, female, pin positive plug) accepts 12-57 V DC⎓." NOTE the manual state 2 (not 2.1) which is what sent me on a goose chase hunting for a unicorn.

The Mikrotik app shows another router on our network (Checkbox wifi router that is built on a mikrotik board). But nothing else is visible. I'm checking from a Mac using the Mikrotik app (not Winbox).

Maybe there is something in the image you posted, but if I open it in my professional high-tech specialised software (Paint :wink:), I see the coordinates of the pixels as:
left side of the DC plug is 70,230
right side 122,240
that makes approximately 52 pixels width (diameter), then
leftmost pin of the green connector 170,266
rightmost one is 206,268, that would make 36 pixels pitch.
36/52 x 5.5 mm = 3.808 mm which sounds a lot like 3.81.

Are you really sure that the one you tried to fit and that is evidently too small is a 3.81?

From the second image you posted it looks (analyzed by the same advanced software) more like a 3.5 pitch one.

Dont forget you can use POE to power in this device but not to power all the POE outs, but might get you to a stable power situation.
