Netwatch icmp problem

Am I missing something?
I want to use the icmp mode because I want more than one “ping”. The simple mode gives me false alarms.

When I set Netwatch to simple mode, the status of monitored device is “up”.

When I set to ICMP and set ping count to 5, the status changes to “down”

But in the status details window I get:

Done tests: 1
Failed tests: 1
Send count: 5
Response count: 5
Loss count: 0
Loss percent: 0

All netwatch settings apart from mode (ICMP) and packet count (5) are left default.
I can ping the monitored device from the terminal and from the ping tool.

So why the status is “down”?

There are some presets of icmp type in netwatch that are (stupidly) not shown/visible.
One of them may be the reason why the link is sensed as down, probably thr-rrt-avg (whatever it is), but it may also be another (hidden) default parameter.

Funny I have a friend who tried to use netwatch icmp and many parameters ex. host=9.9.9.9 interval=5s packet-count=10
packet-interval=500ms thr-avg=700ms thr-jitter=2s thr-loss-count=26 thr-max=2s thr-stdev=700ms timeout=3s ( real world many installs etc ) and after many false alarms has gone to type:simple as a no-brainer, works consistently approach. Interval 10s Timeout 5s.

Do you mean that friends don’t let friends use netwatch icmp? :open_mouth:
