Out of all scenarios, out of all bad things that can happen to my MT-BOX… this is THE WORST¡¡¡
I got a Hotspot up and running, It was working strong¡¡¡ but then…
I was remotely monitoring the network data flow using a netflow monitor when all the sudden…
ALL THE TRAFFIC DROPPED TO CERO¡¡¡¡
I accesed my MT via Winbox to find out that all the hotspot clients suddenly dropped…
I rushed to check my MT box and I find out that the Hotspot interface was behaving rather strangely…
This Network Card is integrated to the Motherboard, its a VIA based NIC… both leds in the card where turned on solid but… the led in the switch was off… I unpluged the cable from the NIC and… THEY WHERE STILL ON¡¡¡… so… i shutdown the system, unpluged the power cord, pluged in again, turned on the system, pluged the cable again… the card seemed to work allrigth… I walked home thinking that the ploblem was solved…
Next day… all was working fine… but… my network speed was lower than usual…
I replaced the ethernet cable going from this card to the switch… the network speed got up rigth away¡¡¡
In any case… WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THIS CARD TURNS OUT TO BE DAMMAGED???
WHAT CONFIGURATION ARRENGMENTS I HAVE TO DO TO USE ANOTHER NIC FOR THE HOTSPOT WITHOUT HAVING TO RESET THE ENTIRE CONFIGURATION???
PLEASE HELLP ME… I AM REALLY PREOCUPIED ABBOUT THIS¡¡¡…
