Network design ( 3 APs )

Hi,

i have 3 APs each with the following configuration:

  • 1 lan cable network 192.168.9.0/24
  • Wireless hotspot. I added users to each AP. clients get IP 172.16.1.0/24 from AP1, 172.16.2.0/24 from AP2 and 172.16.3.0/24 from AP3.
    Each AP has your own SSID.



    Question: How do I configure all my APs to wotk together?
    I mean i want to share userlist and use only ONE SSID.

Please tell me some documentation about what i need.

Check WDS in the documentation.

it’s not a must you have separate SSID’s and separate dhcp servers on it, you can bridge all 3 wlan interfaces and have dhcp running on the bridge. that way your clients can have some simple wireless handoff as they roam around while in range of your base station.

if you’re running a hotspot…simple! check the docs but just run it on the bridge.

oh, and use separate frequencies for the different APs to kill interference as your client radios increase.
