Hello!
Sorry if my question has already a dedicated wiki page or forum thread(s) but I was not able to find a satisfying report/answer I’m gonna stick with.
I have about 9 Mikrotik APs (RB433, ROS5.24) in a system. They are mounted in different height to “cover” cube-like rack (width: ~30m, height: ~23m, depth: ~30m).
All the APs are connected via ethernet to a switch.
Within the rack there are certain moving clients (mainly Mikrotik [RB411, V5.24], but also “regular” users…). So “roaming” would be definitely considered “good”. I know that there are currently a few “limitations” [central roaming-management? etc] but from your opinions/experiences I would like to know what I should go for:
- Can I take the advantage of ethernet-connected APs?
- Should I use different channels (1, 6, 11) for the APs or better go with WDS?
- Are there any specific setups [I read about HWMPlus, EoIP, etc] I could use or that are suggested for this kind of setup?
Thank you in advance,
stefan
