Any word on a new 711 that has 2x2 MIMO?
IMNSHO, 1x1 MIMO is worthless compared to 2x2.
It’s aimed as CPE so there’s no really need for MIMO I guess.

I may not need 200 megabits to a customer, but a sector capable of 200 megabits lets me provide 25 megabit wireless service with less worry about my over-subscription rate. That would require 8 customers on full speed to max the sector instead of only 4.
People can barely get 200mbit on PtP links let alone PtMP setups. Right now 2x2 CPE’s wouldn’t do much but add alot of price, 2x2 19dbi Antenna/Enclosures are twice the price of a 1x1 22dbi Antenna/Enclosure
2x2 does a lot on high density sites. Just drive half of the cpes horizontal and the
other half on vertical you get a big increase of capacity. Using dualpol cpes you can
switch Polarisation remotely.
I was just throwing a number out there. Whatever it is, it’s double of a single chain and I believe more than UBNT is getting out of theirs.

Show me a cost effective DualPol CPE antenna and I’ll support MT spending time building a 2x2 711

Not much of a forward thinker are you? If we all thought like you… we’d be stuck in the stone-ages. I mean, never-mind the fact that eventually someone will bring to the market a cost effective mimo antenna solution.
Lastly, you’d be able to disable a chain and stick with 1x1 in the interim so… I really don’t get your chain of thought

People can barely get MIMO working on PtP links, PtmP is a bit of a pipe dream right now. The 711 is designed to be a cheap CPE system and $100 USD MIMO Antenna’s arent cheap.
I have no doubt that MT will bring one out but right now there is no real need and time could be spent fixing things. Fix what you have before getting onto the dream-list
