New CCR-1036 isn't issuing valid addresses on DHCP

Hello,

I purchased a CCR-1036 at the end of last year, and am just now starting to work with it. After unpacking, I connected Eth 1 to WAN, & Eth 4 to my computer (I also tried several other ethernet ports). After powering up the router, the LCD indicates the router is loading the kernel from nand, and services load after that. The panel also indicates the local ip address is what it should be for a new router: (192.168.88.1) After the router is booted, the computer detects a live connection, but winds up with a self-assigned ip address (169.254.106.140)

I tried power-cycling the router with no change other than the computer gets a different address, for instance: 169.254.76.176

I tried pressing the “reset” button, which doesn’t seem to have any effect.

Not sure what the best next step is… If this isn’t the correct forum for me to be posting this query, please advise…

Thank you for any responses!

Bob
