New CCR1009 - Can't connect

Hi all
I am a proud new owner of a CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+PC. (yay!)

Powered up out of the box.

I am not getting a DHCP Server response from any port.
Tried all ports: combo1, ether1-7 - no luck.

My macbook’s thunderbolt ether adapter shows connected (green light) but no ip address is ever assigned.
Eventually, macbook self-assigns an ip address and unable to ping 192.168.88.1.

Looking at the online docs the port labeled ether1 should work:
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Default_Configurations

Any advice?

Maybe there is blank configuration. Connect by winbox with mac address.

Thank you @jarda that was it. Got in through winbox using MAC address from neighbors tab. I setup my own DHCP on ether1 and working as expected.

That’s standard and expected behaviour.

Indeed. Unlike most other MikroTik routers the CCR comes up with a blank configuration.
Very convenient, as you don’t need to delete all that “default configuration” crap.
But of course you have to know it…

Ha, yes! Knowing is half the battle.
Thanks for the help.

Super friendly suggestion to help new users (like me!):
Update the “CCR series” entry in the Default Configurations wiki:
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Default_Configurations

From:
Default IP → “192.168.88.1/24 on ether1”

To something like:
“Blank configuration. Connect via MAC Winbox.”

You can also use a serial cable and enter some basic commands to make it part of your network.
(set a fixed address, or set a dhcp client)
That is in fact how I did it, I don’t like Winbox so much because I rarely have Windows systems
available and I mostly use the WebFig.
