New CCR1009

Should be arriving this week.
However looking at the wiki, I realized there seems to be little in terms of assisting on the setup of this device.
Specifically I used vlan bridge filtering on my problematic RB450Gx4 and am trying to imagine how I will program the config?
I have no qualms about the rest of the basics, (routing, port fowarding, fw rules) but I am coming up blanks when it comes to dealing with the vlan

Is it simply based again on the bridge vlan filtering concept, with bridge ports etc?

Yes.
No switch - no worries

Okay next question, is there any other considerations in terms of setup that I can adjust for maximum performance that I may have not allowed for seeing as I came from hex type setup.
For example, IP settings?? Still use RP filter loose?? What about allow fast path (currently not selected)- good bad ugly??

I can’t think of any way for you to put any significant load on it in home environment.
Not for testing purposes, but in real life.
It will chew up anything you drop on it without even noticing

The only disappointing bottleneck I ever experienced is IPSec single-tunnel performance, that is caping at 150mbit/s.

Hi xvo, the only ipsec I use is occassionaly test my iphone IKEv2 connectivity and I am a long way of from putting that back on.
One interesting thing, the basic MT RJ45 1gig cage to copper that I use on my 260S works fine on the ccr1009 combo port, however the ubiquiti clone RJ451G (they both look identical down to every detail except the sticker) will not work. Why put under the sfp tab/page for interface, a vendor box, if one wont accept other vendors products LOL.

(yes I tried setting it to advertise only 1000 vice the default 10/100/1000 made no differnce)

Try disabling auto-neg and setting 1000 on both ends.

I can do that on the CCR change it to SFP only, to full duplex 1gig, So far that didnt work with MT cage may try later with UBI cage.
