New device type not automatically added

Hi,

I’ve set a new device and selected my probe in the indentification tab. The probe test an oid to know if it’s from a specific manufacturer.

When I select Discovery in my map, the devices keep get the type “unknown” assigned.

Any idea what i’m doing wrong?

Under settings, discover, Device Types you should have both the required and allowed services selected and they should be unique for that device type and the device type itself needs to be allowed to be discovered. The required services is what is used to determine what device type it is and the allowed is to block or allow services to get installed automatically. If you click on the services tab of a device and select “discover” make sure the services are all discovered and added correctly for that device type.
