New Hardware! - EU MUM 2013

Wow a lot of new products announced at the Europe MUM. Mikrotik have been very busy.

I’ll put the best first…

CRS with POE Ports?

CCR1036-8G-2S+ will be a great box to build GIG ( or 10G with SFP+ ) ethernet ring between multiples POP.

CRS will also be a great device to deliver multiple managed service at client site ( FTTB delivery of MPLS, Internet, TVIP etc ), RB2011 already do a great job, but have some limitation if you need to deliver high bandwidth link !

But what Mikrotik will need to have I think is a device with many SFP socket to put on POP side to do FTTH and FTTB.

Maybe a CCR with 10 or more SFP socket to put in POP with Mikrotik SFP and put RB260GS for FTTH or RB2011 / CRS for FTTB service delivery !

still no hope like RB4xx series with SFP port together with mini pci slot…

yahoo! =) do they have a sample with 10G on the MUM?

yes we do. test running full speed. looks same as in pdf

Any thoughts on making a CCR with more 10g ports?

Ideal for me would be one with two 10g-base-t ports (to connect to two core switches), and one SFP+ port (to connect to fiber running to another site).

I think Normis mentioned that there was currently a hardware limitation.

The announced model fits our immediate requirement, but we also need a model with at least 4 ports. 2 for uplinks to other sites, and 2 for links via MLAG to redundant switches.
Im sure Mikrotik are working on something.

Oh,

Thanks to Mikrotik for all the hard work that has gone in to the new products. The CRS and CCR-1036-8G-2S+ are what a lot of us have been waiting for.

I like the Micro-SD card on the front of the new CCR, hopefully we see that on more products. It would be nice if we could load FW/configs from the micro-sd.

Oh, and 802.3af POE on the CRS would be REALLY useful for powering phones/IP cameras  It would make the CRS the perfect “branch office router”

What’s the advantage for the mini-pcie wireless card?

Hi all,

lots of good stuff in here

nz_monkey, knowledgeable as you are, do you have ideas as to the shape of the SXT HG? It appears to be significantly deeper than the normal SXT…perhaps some witchcraft to make it have tighter beamwidth?

Regards, Dave.

It is Mini PCI-e so faster than normal Mini PCI. Also it will fit in the new RB911 and RB912

Folks,
Why is Mikrotik focusing on more power 26 dbm …30 dbm… 32 dbm.
OKAY we can decrease the power to use it.

But what is Mikrotik doing to negate interference. or please can someone suggest ways for that.
That is big big trouble.

And please some new product to handle power on the routerboard.
So we can directly plug in the routerboard to Battery leads. 24Volts 60 amp should be good enough to give 48hrs backup on a RB711/911/Groove/SXT/411 etc.

Regards,

Great Job!!
for me that I liked the
RB912G OUTDOOR-- (have metal shield?),
R11E-HPND- ( Maybe someday, you can put in 433 dual core)
CRS

But, were in debt. a more directional antenna cpe +21 db. :frowning:
SXT HG (just out of curiosity Why do that much work to making equipment with just 1db more? )

Sorry my little English

Is there comparsions available for this?

dBi is only the gain. antenna has a lot of other improvements, smoother frequency curve etc

Does the "smoother frequency curve " apply to both transmit and receive bandwidth and are they equal or do we have different frequency bandwidth curve for transmit and different frequency curve for receive, like the question i asked in my post
http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/radio-card-rx-bandwidth/45267/1

On the new rb912G whats the memory on it?

64MB

Does it have voltage monitor?
