Hi all,
i have an office with a microtik 6.30.2 router, and with a wan (192.168.150.x and lan (10.0.0.x) networks that are already talking.
The wan is now an MPLS, so my boss asked me to remove the microtik altogether, and change all machines/servers ip adress with the mpls one.
Im not here to discuss that, i have already tried to talk with him but he WANTS me to do that. Point.
To have a smooth transition (there are many machines and some public services on the lan part) i tried to use the same steps i used in another office where there was a pfsense in place of this microtik.
So, i changed the physical cables from wanrouter<->microtick to wanrouter<->lanswitch<->microtik to be able to start adding new mpls address to pc (and remove the lan ones when all is done). But, as soon as i did that, the services forwarded from wan->microtik->servers stoped working (that, instead, worked with the pfsense setup).
It seems that as soon as the microtik sees wan traffic on lan port, and/or viceversa, it goes mad.
- PC in lan with old ips, are able to in internet via microtik.
- PC in lan with mpls ips, are able to go in internet without passing through microtik
- All the port forwards from wan to lan are NOT working. No mail, no web, nothing is reachable from internet to lan servers.
This occurs until i put back the original connection from microtik to the link provider router.
Now, i’m here, to seek advice. Is there any option/configuration that will let me have wan lan/wan traffic coexist on both ports, for the time i need to move all computers from old IPs to new ones?
i hope the scenario is clear. i’m not native english.
