New Install "Fatal Error" Hard Drive not found.

Hi all,

I’ve tried for days with multiple setting options to try and get RouterOS 5.0rc installed on a new Dell T110 Server with no luck and keep getting a hard drive not found error. I’ve tried both USB install using Netinstall and ISO CD-Rom boot and have cycled through different bios settings for the SATA. Regardless of the setting in bios I get the same error.

Ideally I would like to boot from USB that the BIOS allows and it would seem that RouterOS starts to boot from it then as mentioned I get the error. Then I have two hard drives I would like to run in a performance raid setup that would be used as web cache for the internet service I provide. Any ideas on how I might be able to get RouterOS to boot properly?

SATA controller options are Off, ATA Mode, AHCI Mode, and Raid. Boot mode is set to bios but there is another option called UEFI. USB is set as the highest boot priority. Current research would suggest that I wont be able to use the raid PERC S100 that comes with the Dell with RouterOS as it would seem it requires drivers embedded in the OS. However, even with a faster web cache out of the picture I would still like to know how to get past this error.

This is the motherboard used in the Dell server. http://www.ascendtech.us/itemdesc.asp?ic=MBDELX744KPT110 I tried cross referencing the motherboard in this server with the supported hardware list and couldn’t find http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Supported_Hardware

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I’m facing the same problems too

mikrotick guys, can you help?

you can try to install RouterOS onto the USB flash using PC and then try to boot it from there.
