First time using one of these (and RouterOS in general), and super confused as to why I don’t have any wlan interfaces, nor can create/enable one, etc. Any attempt to create a vlan in the wireless section doesn’t work due to not being able to select any “master interface”.
It also doesn’t have the wireless package that I see mentioned in my searches. It had wireless-cm2, and I tried switching to wireless-fp.
I did do a reset on the router after accidentally locking myself out via unkown IP (in retrospect I probably could have gotten back in).
Do I need to manually install the wireless package for some reason? Or might I have a borked device? Bought off of Amazon… Am using the supplied 24V power supply.
As above, get onto the latest stable build of rOS and it should work. There is a very outside possibility the wireless chip is not working hence not having the interfaces available but it’s more likely that rOS just needs a kick.
**When you’ve reset it you didn’t put it into CAPSMan mode did you? That would stop you from operating the wlan interfaces.
I just followed the procedure to get into CAPs mode, and that gave me a new popup regarding that, so I was not in that mode before.
Looking at the startup script, I found where it tries to access the wireless interface(s), and my log has the corresponding error message: “DefConf: Unable to find wireless interfaces”.
I’m thinking this is faulty hardware… I’ve got a handful of these at work that have been sitting around, so I’m going to see if those work better.
