New RF Elements Sector Antennas

What do you guys think of these:

That’s looks nearly identical to cambiums 5ghz epmp sector. Even the curve of the mounting bracket. The top mounting bracket is placed higher on the rf elements but otherwise it’s hard to find any differences.

In general, I have never been too impressed with rfelements build quality. They seem to come up with neat designs, but their stuff doesn’t seem built to last. Maybe they are starting to use higher quality components. They should if they are starting to call their stuff carrier class.

FYI: they ARE identical to ePMP sector antennas, because they manufacture that antennas for Cambium networks.

As i know, they design this antenna on Cambium’s request, to have biggest possible F2B ratio and side attenuation, to allow ePMP sectors to profit as lot as possible from GPS syncing of back to back sectors.

(Also ePMP sets target tx power on each station, so nearby clients automatically scale down, and noone will have higher signal than needed/expected)

These antennas seem to be the only sectors that utilize three chains…

I wonder why UBNT doesn’t have any sector antennas with three chains.

In my research, it seems more chains equals better resolution in the communications…

Arcee: We have also antennas with 3x3 and 4x4 → http://www.wireless-instruments.com/en/produkty/14/58/antennas-5-ghz/mimo/sector/wibox-sa-d4m5-90-17hvx.html.

Our sector has 4 separate polarizations H+V+X (45 deg slant HV). In RF Elements is HHV or VVH.

If only RFElements can provide availability date for these new product. They said first quarter 2015 but it dosent seem to be available in the market at the moment.
