We received a couple of the New RIC/522 for testing.
We are impressed with what we have tested so far. Compared to a 26dB antenna, we had very similar signal strengths. Have yet to fully test, but looking good so far.
The antenna is a little larger than thought, but this accounts for the good signal strenght.
A couple of things that could do with a little attention is the U-Bolt has been made out of a single pice of threaded rod (stainless rod) which is a little out of sink with the holes in the mounting bracket. This makes for a little bit of mucking around when mounting. I would like to see the U-Bolts with the thread at the ends of the u-bolt only, but I release this is a cost saving procedure.
The braket is also designed for a sky mount pole, 50mm pipe or there abouts, unable to mount to a standard hockey stick.
Of course, the first thing you do is pull it apart and have a look inside, it is a very tidy looking package.
So good, we are looking at buying them for all future client units and possable 1- 10km backbone links we supply for other companies. (Testing will comfirm this)
