New SXT AC Lite

I’ve just seen it. 5/10/20/40/80MHz support, and… additional 2,4GHz for alignment purposes!!

I can’t understand why the number of 2.4ghz clients is artificially limited to maximum of one. Sure I understand the purpose, but why not to provide standard functionality of the wlan interface and let the user to use it how he wants?

2,4 G
Antenna Gain 1,5 dBi !!!

i think its a good improvement, good innovation other vendors dont have

remember, its a level 3 license.

maybe similar device will come with level 4 license or upgrading license

That’s it. Level 3 as it is lite version.

I also think that this is very good improvement.Thank you Mikrotik.
Now I am waiting for CPE with higher gain and CRS with gigabit poe out on all ports and i will be happy.

10/100Mbps Ethernet port :frowning:

Meh, I can’t see a reason for this device to exist without 1Gbps port. Yes, cheap, but why do we need 802.11ac PtP then?

Do you expect more than 100 mbps in a PtMP envroiment?

I think it’s great to install as customer CPE

If you need Gigabit version, there are some models

If you need cheap AC CPE, this device is for you

I know is cheap.
I know there are models with gigabit.
I don’t need you to tell me that.
It’s just not nice it doesn’t have gigabit. Some of us would like to serve more than 100mbps with an cheap CPE.
The next option is almost double the price…

agree

in a ptmp hardly to serve more than 100mbps of throughput per client, very optimized device at a good price

I was very excited when I saw a second wlan interface at 2G, but my excitement went away immediately when I tried to setup the Virtual AP on it and got notification that L3 doesn’t support that feature.. The original intention of mine was to setup a few dummy APs with different SSIDs to make an impression that our service is abundant in that territory, because people here care what service their neighbors are using. I’m aware of low antenna gain and tx-pwr of 2G interface, but I only care if people pick up these APs in their scans with phones, tablets and computers. So, now at least for me, this is a waste of additional NIC.. :frowning:

I just wanted to return device today for malfunction when I saw two interfaces, especially one of them beeing 2.4

Eitherway, Miktotik you should lower a little bit restriction on that 2.4 interface.
Would be a surplus to have additional use beside administration. For example like exterior AP limited for only few clients (backyard/garden ap for client), now it’s sitting there for what…disabled :open_mouth:

Is it possible that this device is 5GHz SISO instead of MIMO?? :open_mouth:

Is the 5GHz antenna in the SXT AC Lite the same as in the standard SXT G-5HPacD? The standard SXT AC antenna works quite well up to 6100 MHz, SXT AC HG not so well (different antenna design - higher gain, but narrower bandwidth), it would be interesting to know about the SXT AC Lite before I buy more of them.

Attention! This equipment has inexplicably only 16 megabytes NAND !!!
how is it possible that older LITE 802.11n had 128 megabytes NAND ??

Yes, 128 megabytes NAND is useless, it would suffice even 32 megabytes, but 16 megabytes is awfully little!

Please make redress

datasheet specify that please read before buy

latest small devices all come with only 16mb of nand, one good example of that is the hEX

i miss the 128mb too :frowning: :frowning:

Interesting trick: I bumped the license up to level 4 and I now have a 2 chain 5 GHz ac AP AND a 1 chain 2 GHz AP that can serve MULTIPLE clients! Away went the limit of only one client connected to the 2 GHz interface!!!

The trick would be more interesting, if it did not cost $45.

I’m in fact a little disappointed with those new SXT Lite5 AC. Mikrotik is obviously cutting corners with them. It’s NAND flash is noticeably slower - unit bootup, netinstall and file operations take forever now, no beeper is VERY bad move, also I have plenty of them dead already. If they die, they seem to fail next day of operation. Very frustrating against clients. But I hope that affects only first batches and gets fixed soon. For a while I’m staying with good old Lite5, since AC doesn’t really provide much of improvement in overcrowded freq anyway..
