The company I work at recently made a great purchase with a MicroTik Router and Groove Wifi, with the Omni Directional Antenna.
There are some serious issues going on with the Wifi however.
Even though I’m no more then 10 meters away from the Omni Directional router, In the Wireless - Registration - Client - Signal area, I see Signal Strength on average around -68dBm, with Signal to Noise around 40dB.
With Wired, into Router, I can do a speedtest and get 80+Mbps easily. With the Wifi, no matter what channel I seem to try, either 20Mhz or 40Mhz, no matter what I try I cant get bursts more then 40Mbps, and this is the worst part…
Almost all of the speedtests just completely stop transferring data in the middle! It just sits there for 10 minutes even, without even 1 packet eventually going through… So in real world tests in the office, with over 10 people using the Wifi, no one is having issues doing their work…
But I see a big problem here!
Another thing I just noticed which is extremely shocking — Whenever I try downloading files, I get failed - network error in chrome! I tried downloading drivers from AMD, and over 20 files from soundcloud, but all of them start out OK, but within 10 seconds they all have failed.
Something is going on here..
I watched one tutorial 20 minutes ago and it said to set DFS mode to no radar detech which I did.
Did I mention… We are using this amazing Omni Directional Antenna, and EVERY laptop here in the office is no further then 15 meters away from the Wifi. We have some thick concrete walls, but even when I put the Wifi access literally 10 feet away from my workstation in the same office, still get bad signal.
