Hi, I have used RB411 and older briefly and am quite used to routing and networking so not a total NOOB.
But NO experience with cloudcore’s and it’s a bit daunting!
Is there anyone who can give me a few pointers with setting up Cloudcore routers.
The scenario is as follows.
client site
local subnet 10.22.0.0 - vlan tag 1818
public ip 105.208.x.x
80+ unify AP’s with 4 clients each > fiber backbone > CoudCore16 > ZyXEL ADSL modem with L2TP (for fixed ip address)
Should I set up the ADSL modem as ppoe passthrough and let the cloudcore do the login (so I don’t have to double-nat)
The local isp’s use l2tp with a shared secret to assign the fixed ip and from my reading this is not supported by routerOS.
Can one still do ppoe passthrough and allow the adsl modem to fetch the fixed IP (I don’t see it working but someone may have done it already)
server site
local IP 192.168.0.0/24
dmz IP 192.168.1.0/24
public ip 41.x.x.x
internet > cisco > linux gateway > private network
currently cisco ADSL router supplied by isp and locked in by them.
I will be replacing this with a cloud router switch.
I would like to create a vpn tunnel between the client site and mikrotik cloud switch as none of the client traffic goes to the internet, only to an internal server.
which is the easiest vpn tunnel to set up?
Any pointers or config examples would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Charles
