New to Networking (looking for some help)

I am moving into a new house that I fully wired up with Ethernet (about 16 connections roughly). All of which I have connected to this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0044GH27U?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

I also have a RB750.

I absolutely do not understand the interface of the mikrotik router config.

If I connect my laptop directly to the modem, the internet works perfectly. If I connect my laptop to the router which is connected to the modem, the internet connection times out after I tell it to connect to the broadband connection with the proper username and password.

I have no changed any settings in the mikrotik web UI.

I have used several D-Link, Asus and Linksys routers in the past. Have even installed DD-WRT on one of them before.

Any and all help would be apprectiated.

Could be a MAC address-lock with your provider.

  1. Remove ethernet cable from modem
  2. Power off modem
  3. Leave modem powered of for an hour (ok, longer then needed, but still)
  4. power up modem
  5. Connect cable between modem and port 1 of Mikrotik.

Any difference?
