Hi all,
i just received my RB2011UiAS-RM and accessed the web interface for configuration. I have already configured some basic things but i will need some more help for what i need to do.
The router’s software and specs look good but the design is a bit “light” (for example the power input plug at the back does not have a good contact and the router switches off all the time).
Here is my goal:
Eth1 as WAN1 → primary interface using DHCP client (i assume i won’t need to fix the IP address)
Eth2 as WAN2 → secondary interface as backup only, to be used if WAN1 fails => how can i do this? It will also be DHCP client
Eth3, Eth4, Eth5 → wired LAN, all three ports work together as a switch on the same LAN (LAN1) with DHCP server
Eth10 is a POE output for a wireless bridge; it should be bridged with LAN1 and on this wireless LAN the IP address will be the same as for LAN1 and managed by the same DHCP server
Eth6 will belong to LAN1 but is dedicated for the IP phone system and therefore it will have priority over the other LAN ports for QoS reasons. I have not found how to do this.
Eth7, Eth8, Eth9 → wired LAN, all three ports work together as a switch on the same LAN (LAN2) with DHCP server. LAN2 has a different address range than LAN1 and is therefore managed by a second DHCP server.
Users of LAN1 are unrestricted and can go to LAN2.
Users of LAN2 can only go to WAN, they can’t even see or ping the users of LAN1.
LAN2 → WAN will have bandwidth limitations and proxy / web limitations
Then on top of that, users will be able to connect from WAN to LAN1 over VPN. Which solution is the best for VPN?
Users from LAN1 can VPN to WAN and users from LAN2 can VPN to WAN.
Finally, when i have configured the router, how can i download a backup of the configuration and how can i restore the router’s settings from a backup?
I’m familiar with other types of routers but it is my first time with routerOS and it does not look like what i’m used to. I also had never tried to make such a complex configuration before.
Thank you for your help and suggestions.
