New to SEXTANT G 5HPnD

Hi all
I have 3 small question.
I have set up 2 SEXTANT G 5HPnD antenna up over 7 Km, but it is not running so good, it is stable but rely slow speed, so now we need to repoint again.
I spend some hours to day on one end to get better signal, but still it is only -89 db, but I am working on it, but the bad thing is that nr 2 antenna is in a 30 m mast, so
Q Number 1 what is the best way to tune in for best signal, other then signal, cuss we can point some degrees on the antenna with out chance in signal?
Number 2: (Tacking from the demo site) Under wireless in advance mode there is a field call Antenna Gain, what is that for? SEXTANT 5HPnD is 18 db antenna, do I put 18 in that field?
Number 3: (Also from demo site) Under wireless there is a field call Frequency mode, default it is put to manual-txpower, but what do I use it for?
Maybe some more Q later on….

Cheers
Jimmy

Hey honzam
ya i trying to read, but still i have a Q.

antenna-gain (integer [0..4294967295]; Default: 0)

Antenna gain in dBi, used to calculate maximum transmit power according to country regulations.

I rely don’t understand this, cuss how dit dbi end up with transmit power? I say antenna-gain and my antenna is 18 db antenna, so do i need to use this feld?

Again sry, but i am new to all this, it is not VHF signal anymore

Cheers

Yes, if you put number 18. Then sextant reduce TX power.

Search for EIRP and see how it is calculated. Regularory limits are given in EIRP for most bands.

hmm i need to read more in to this.
