New wireless registration details

Is there already some manual of explanation what these new wireless readings are in the new .fp package?

I would like to know “1S” or “2S” (probably 1 or 2 chains. But I see 1S on SXT’s that are are connected to a dual chain AP?)
“SGI” Could this be “Short Guard Interval” as opposed to the “Long-” or “Any Guard Interval”?

Always nice if new features are also mentioned in the manuals… :frowning:

Ok, can anybody explain me why some CPE’s show the 1S or 2S alternating? Even with good signal levels for both chains?
I can understand that it means only 1 or two chains are connected. But with signal levels of around -55’s for some, why should antenna work only with 1 chain at times, to go to 2 chain, back to one, etc.. on both rx and tx independent from each other.

I have one other link working with actually 3 chains. Although the signals tell me all three chains should be connected (all three report levels better than -70)
the rates never show 3S. Only 2S.
Does this now mean only 2 chains are used?

I have been wondering these same questions as well, Mikrotik- can you update the manual with an explination of the TX / RX rates as shown in /int wireless reg ?

or update this thread even?

thanks!

1S or 2S means how many Spatial Streams are used. With that value you can know better which MCS is used.

Yes, SGI stands for Short Guard Interval

If your link doesn’t use 3S it means that with 2S it can get better and higher data-rate without lot of retransmissions.
