newbie AP routing question

I just purchased my first MT hardware and am having an issue that I’m sure is a result of having no experience with the setup procedures.

I’ll do my best to describe exactly what is happening, and hopefully someone with a lot more experience can quickly point out the simple mistake I’ve made.

The problem I’m having is with AP routing. Wireless clients can connect to the AP, and ping both Ether1 and WLAN1, but wireless clients can’t ping anything else. Workstations on my public network can ping and telnet to Ether1, but can’t ping WLAN1. What have I missed?

Here’s the basic info about my configuration. Please let me know if I’ve left anything out that’s important.

-Ether1 is configured as 1.1.1.11. This address is from my public network of 1.1.1.0/24.
-WLAN1 is configured as 2.2.2.1. DHCP is configured to hand out address from a pool within this subnet. Wireless clients can connect and receive an address.
-I added routes between the 2 interfaces and Ether1 and WLAN1 can ping one another

Thank you

try adding a bridge and then adding the ether port and the wlan port to that bridge.

Wow. That was almost too simple. Thank you very much. I owe you a beer for that one.

Unfortunately, that probably won’t be the last of my ridiculous questions.

Hi,

You only miss default gateway on your MT.
P.S. You dont need to make route for local interfaces on MT, thay already dynamicly routed.
