Newbie Needs Help

I am new to using Mikrotik and Soekris boxes. I am trying to use Mikrotik on a Soekris 4801-60 using a compact flash card mounted into the Soekris Box. This is what I have done, using a pc with card reader and the NET install utility I imaged the flash card with the mikrotik software version 2.9.20, alog with the routeros for x86.

So here is my probelm after doing all of this I am unable to boot the soekris box with the Mikrotik software. I have tried to telnet into the box using a db9 connector from the PC to the box with no avail. However I am not entirely sure if I am doing things correctly.

Please help a guy out…

Do you see the box boot with a console plugged into the db9 connector?

The Soekris boxes change the comm port speed during the boot which can confuse the issue.

You should also be able to use Mac-Telnet if the box does successfully boot.
