Hey guys, sorry if this question has been answered but my search didnt yield an answer.
So I have a few servers in a DC somewhere and I’d like to be able to monitor all their CPU, HD, Memory stats from a remote box. The box is technically in the same DC but its on another network. So I’d be traversing the internet basically. I’ve installed dude on either machine and my understanding was that I could then setup checks on that machine and the install of the dude would act as an agent, but I dont think i’m correct in that. Is there an agent that can monitor cpu, hd, etc that runs on a remote PC? I’m sure I’m missing something really simple here, especially since no one else has asked such a simple question. I did read someone mentioning SNMP, but I do not have this running on the other client box I’d like to monitor. My understanding was that you can monitor a machine using 2210 & 2211. But that might just be to see the checks from that machine. I’d like to see all the machines cpu/memory/etc on one machine.
So if I do have to install snmp… how does The dude client talk to snmp on the remote box and get info from the dude server? Sorry if i’m complicating this.
Anyway, can anyone point me in the right direction… sans RTFM. ![]()
