RB44Ge - ho ho ho ))
Thats why you dont whant include normal driver for intel ethernet )))

Ok, some questions - can we turn on or of TCP\UDP offloading ?
how many RX-TX queue per port support atheros chip ?
atheros 8131 support Vlan tag offload ?
can we manually change coalescing parameters ?
can we set manually RX\TX ring buffer for each port ??

Some more info about RB44Ge is here: http://routerboard.com/RB44Ge (see PDF file on the left)

Normis, why couldn’t the new RB2011U with more memory and CPU speed? I would be willing to pay for some more money. It seems that Mikrotik is obsessed with having low prices, which is good, but at the same time it would be great to have more power.

just overclock to 750mhz

We have also more expensive and higher power products. Actually I think we have products for every price range. If you can’t find what you need, let us know what product you would want, and we will think how to make it.

Well in that case  we need to talk over the phone because I always have great ideas lol. Also if you are to by the baseboard RB2011UAS-2HND without the case, can you add your own custom LCD panel or ? Don’t care about the touch screen in particular.

normis:

in the routerboarg webpage not sell the case indor for rb2011UAS-2HnD

rj45 serial port like cisco ??

RB44Ge is just 4x Atheros PCI chipsets with a PCI to PCIe bridge chip :frowning:

I’ll order the RB44Ge and RB2011L-RM tomorrow

Are there any plans/a date for RB2011LS-RM (rackmount with SFP)??

Thanks!

This is great news!
I will order RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN as soon as it is available at my local distributor.

It’s 4x Atheros PCIe Ethernet, consumer grade, controllers connected to PCIe switch chip:

Quick google search reveals myriad of driver issues in Linux…

I dont understand why Mikrotik have put a micro-USB port on the RB2011UAS-2HnD.

The PCB has the provision for a real USB port, its just one more ugly adapter hanging out the front, and micro-usb is no where near as mechanically secure as full sized USB

The LCD screen look like an after-thought, having it on the top just means it will get scratched from items being placed on top. Great idea, but a 1U case with it on the front. Or a nice stand up case like the Thomson tg589 has with LCD on the front, ports on the back would be fantastic.

On the positive side, Serial via RJ45, with Cisco pinout, FINALLY!

Good to hear RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN is available. Started to search and purchase
Now waiting cloud core!!!

The Rackmount version with wireless and the LCD is still coming. Hopefully the wait will not be too long, but I do agree with you on the USB part.

I would love pay a bit more for the RB2011UAS-2HnD to have both 2GHz/5GHz option or even with a minipci slot for later expansion.

+1

I will get one RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN I think its awesome! Yeah ! I wish it had a proper USB port to plug in 3g dongles, wimax dongles, usb Wi-Fi dongles, usb ethernet, usb hubs, usb storage, usb to serial so on

p.s what if I plugged in an USB otg cable into that port, will that give us a proper usb host port ?

it is proper USB port, just different form factor.

Excellent. I have a USB OTG cable prepared.

And if a USB device does not work, can we help for it to be supported by sending a supout file while it is plugged in ?
