Please Sir, I need your help.
I'm using the L009 Mikrotik Router v7, I want to use it for Hotspot Business. I configured 2 different bridges with 2 different ip addresses and also 2 different Hotspot accounts. One account for Xenfi and the second for Mikhmon.
I tested all the accounts, all of them are working correctly.
But the only problem I'm facing now is. I'm using Mikhmon V4 to handle my Voucher, I tried to connect Mikhmon to my router but it is not connecting to my router.
I tried all my best but I couldn't get it right.
Please, I need your help.
thank you
Hi,
Mikhmon connects to the router through the RouterOS API, so the problem is usually one of the following. Please check them in order:
1. Reachability
Mikhmon connects from the machine/server where it is hosted (not from your browser). That machine must be able to reach the router's IP.
- Is Mikhmon in the same local subnet as the router, or does it connect over a public IP/VPN?
- Since you have 2 bridges with 2 different subnets, make sure Mikhmon uses the IP of the bridge that its host can actually reach.
- Test with a ping from the Mikhmon host to the router IP. You can also test the port, for example: telnet ROUTER-IP 8728
2. API service enabled
Mikhmon V4 uses the plain API on port 8728 (not api-ssl 8729). Check it:
/ip service print
/ip service enable api
/ip service set api port=8728 address=""
If the address= field is restricted to certain subnets, the Mikhmon host's IP must be included.
3. Firewall
If there are firewall rules that drop traffic to the router (input chain), add an accept rule placed above the drop rule:
/ip firewall filter add chain=input protocol=tcp dst-port=8728 src-address=MIKHMON-IP action=accept place-before=0
4. Credentials and user group
In Mikhmon, enter the router's IP (and port 8728), plus a RouterOS user with sufficient permissions (api, read, write, policy, test). Using a user in the "full" group is the easiest way to rule out permission problems. Note that the Hotspot user accounts are not the same as the RouterOS admin user.
5. Mikhmon settings
- The IP/hostname field must contain only the IP address, without http://
- Make sure the "SSL" option is not ticked if you are using port 8728.
If it still fails, please post the exact error message shown by Mikhmon and the output of /ip service print, so I can help further.
