I recently set up PPTP VPN on an RB750. I used a few different examples but ended up with the one on the MikroTik WIKI. I am able to connect the tunnel just fine using the Windows 7 client. I can access the router remotely (from inside the VPN connection,) but cannot access any other internal resources. My client is given an internal IP address (192.168.88.226) for the “Remote Address” and the IP of the router (192.168.88.1) for the “Local Address.” I’ve turned on “proxy-arp” on the master-local-gateway. I don’t have any custom routes/queues/FW rules (besides the ones to allow PPTP connections)/etc. defined. By all accounts this should work? I would appreciate any input.
I would also like to say, I’m relatively new to advanced networking (have played with DD-WRT and OpenWRT) and I think WinBox is a really excellent product.
Sorry, should have been more specific. I am not able to ping and device on the LAN. I’ve tested these devices to be pingable from the router and also from other devices directly connected to the LAN. Another piece of information which I think is helpful, but I don’t understand: I can’t ping the VPN client IP from the router. I can ping the router from the VPN client though.
