no compatibility

I tray to perform a link point to point between
RB532A AR5006X 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1)
RB333 AR5212 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1)

but the ccq of transmission from AR5006X to AR512 is strong dependent from load of link.

There are no compatibility between this chip.

I tray with other link in wds, AP-client, etc. different distance e different routeros release but the results are very bad.

thanks eng. solano

You proved nothing.

this could be caused by anything. this doesn’t mean the chips are incompatible.

Yes. But we have about 100 links with miktorik device and miniPCI AR5212 but only four with AR5006x and AR5212. All four link are bad. It is statistically true. No compability between this chip.
eng. Solano

statistically I could unplug all of those link’s antennas, and say that 100% of the mikrotik devices are non-working by design

your test could just indicate a mass misconfiguration

You said: “ask and You shall rceive an answer”, but then Your answers should be significant.
Please try to give serious answers and do a test to check the compatibility between these two miniPC.
In fact we discovered the incompatibility between tese two miniPC and we have to dismount four base station and replace them with AR5212. :frowning:
eng. Solano

First of all, AR5006X is not a chipset name, the chipsets in this family are AR5413 and AR5414

Second - we have no issues using AR5413 together with AR5212, they even use the same driver in RouterOS. There is no incompatibility, and it’s been proven in the field by thousands of our customers who use this combination of cards.

P.S: did you read the link in my signature? you will see that “asking” means giving detailed information of your problem, not just some complaint without any information about your setup

infact the minipci AR5006X have serious problem with AR5212 in other word chip 54xx with 52xx are incompatible.
thanks
p.s. I Untestood that we have to solve this ourselves because you are no able to support us. As for all the question we asked in the past.

eng. Solano

did you read at all what I wrote?

can you at least finally post your configuation, and more detailed description of the problem? complaining won’t help

there are not relation between AR54xx or 52xx with AR5212 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1) or AR5006X 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1).
we have Atheros AR5413 with AR5212 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1) and Atheros AR5413 with AR5006X 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1).
Today in the same link we substuite the minipci with AR5413 by one end and AR5413 by other and all tests very ok ccq 98%/98% and it not depending from the load of link. Tomorrow we tray to replace other mipci with critical link AR5212 with AR5413.
We attached the proof.
link with just 4mbps in both direction.JPG
without load.JPG

You still haven’t provided your configuration before and after. All you have proved is you have some type of configuration error.

the same link, same antenna, same routerboard, but different mini pci
AR5006X 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1) with AR5212 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1) very bad ccq when loading the link

AR5212 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1) with AR5212 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1) very good link more than 20 Mbit/s

thanks

why you dont post your config before and after with pics attached so if there is really a problem, MT guys could take it serious.

try to lower you output power on each end by 10db to try to get -60/-60 for signal strengths.
Your ccqs should go up.

attached signal strenght and ccq for about 1Mbps of load.
Configurations: the results not change with different configurazion.
with Nstreme and without Nstreme.
in WDS or AP and station etc.
With RB532A and RB333/433.

I noted that the bad link is from AR5212 to AR5006X.
I will tray to lower the power but i already made this in the past. In any case i tray to post the results.

I have about 100 links point to point a 5GHZ. ALL links with AR5212 and AR5006X are very bad with to load increase.

All link with the same mini pci AR5212/13
or the same AR5006X are ok.

Until mikrotik not resolve the problem of compatibility, i suggest of no replace old mini pci with AR5212 with the new AR5006X from one side. If the link was ok, after the replacement the link will be poor.

We not buy new cpe mikrotik with AR5006X becouse we have AP with old AR5212 and the performance are very very low.

thanks
Solano

tx of -64 is OK.
the other end has to have its power lowered also, rx of -46 is too strong.

we have replace the micipci AR5414 (AR5006X) with AR5212 and we have the performance required 10Mbps with 93%CCQ.

The power not resolve the problem.
Thanks
eng. Solano

in effect the problem is more complicated infact the performance depends also the routeros installed. For example same routeros version (3.20) in description type we have Wireless (Atheros AR5413) for chip AR5212 and the link is not good.
The better link is with description type Wireless (Atheros AR5213 or AR5212) and with chip AR5212 802.11abg NIC (rev: 1).
