no direct to login page

hello all

i have RB 951 V6.9
i set up every thing (addresses , dhcp , hotspot , …)
i have a problem , when my hotspot users type any web site in their browsers they cant see my hotspot login page , but it work good if i type the ip of my hotspot interface.
any help please

Is the RB951 connected to the internet? Do you have valid dns servers entered in “/ip dns”? Did you set “allow-remote-requests=yes” there also?

If all the answers are yes, then post “/ip hotspot profile”.

yeh i’v done them all

/ip hotspot profile
set [ find default=yes ] html-directory=orbit-final
add dns-name=www.orbit.com hotspot-address=192.168.1.1 html-directory=
orbit-final http-cookie-lifetime=1h name=hsprof1
add dns-name=www.orbit.com hotspot-address=192.168.2.1 html-directory=
orbit-final http-cookie-lifetime=1h name=hsprof2
add dns-name=www.orbit.com hotspot-address=192.168.5.1 html-directory=
orbit-final name=hsprof3
add dns-name=www.orbit.com hotspot-address=192.168.3.1 name=hsprof4
add dns-name=www.orbit.com hotspot-address=192.168.4.1 name=hsprof5
/ip hotspot
add address-pool=hs-pool-2 addresses-per-mac=1 disabled=no idle-timeout=10m

add address-pool=dhcp_pool19 disabled=no interface=out4 name=hs-out4 profile=

I think it is your entry for “dns-name=www.orbit.com”. That domain name must resolve to your router’s hotspot interface ip. That doesn’t.
www.orbit.com resolves to 217.13.58.88

thanks
i think when my hotspot users connect to my network before entering their username and password and they try to open any web site they must direct to my log in page.
this domain(www.orbit.com) is local and it’s working good with me
i have this problem with other domain on another server

I know how they work. The dns-name must resolve to the router’s hotspot ip.

You own the domain orbit.com? www.orbit.com resolves to all these ips?
192.168.1.1
192.168.2.1
192.168.3.1
192.168.4.1
192.168.5.1
Somehow I doubt that.

If you are having problems with another domain on another server, then why did you post this stuff?

it’s work good on my network but i was working on another hotspot on another server and i made all the configuration as in my server hotspot, the problem is in the new one.
any way thank u i made it up , i downgrade from 6.9 to 6.7 and it’s working good with the new one, i don’t know how but it’s working.
thanks again friend

I tested your setup with ROS v6.9 on a localnet router ip of 192.168.1.1/24. Mine fails if I use “dns-name=www.orbit.com”, or any domain that does not resolve to 192.168.1.1. No login page.

That dns-name must resolve to the ip of the hotspot interface ip. You can set that domain to resolve to that ip in “/ip dns static”, but you lose the ability to go to that domain from the hotspot interface.

I guess now you can’t upgrade to a newer ROS version without your hotspot failing. Oh well…
