no ethernet interface after upgrade

After upgrading from MT 2.9.27 to 2.9.48 - Ethernet interface is not seen. The NIC is intel 82559. There is no Interface > ether :frowning: - why? how to force interface re-detect? how to enable this NIC?

shutdown, remove card, boot RouterOS, shutdown, install card, boot RouterOS. I’ve seen this happen as well. If it’s onboard NIC then disable in bios in above procedure.
