We are trying RouterOs 4.9 on some “old” but powerful DL320 G2, with 2.8 Ghz CPU, double gigabit and IDE disks, and we are facing this strange problem (which looks to exist for every older version).
Tipically, Proliants have two IDE controllers, the first used only for CD, the second for HD, so the first usable HD/DOM starts at the fifth HD device.
It looks like RouterOS and the installation program handle only the first four HD devices.
We faced the same problem with monowall, until they released a new version supporting other four devices nodes (/dev/ad4 - /dev/ad7), and the problem was solved.
It is possible to add support for other HD devices? We are quite sure this would open a new world of hardware to RouterOS.
It is not necessary to add other drivers but only to extend the devices of existing ide controllers (both in installation program and within RouterOS).
Thanks,
Tonino
