no internet traffic

hello people of the internet!

ive just set up my first machine to run routerOS v5.6 and it was all going fine! :confused:
PPPoE connects and i can ping the gateway that is all working without to much trouble

but i cant seem to get any internet traffic!!

any help you guys can offer would be brilliant :smiley:

check whether you got DNS from the PPPoE server.

if not , check teh profile and see if you ahve added the DNS server along with the Pool.

if you are able to ping only the gateay , please ignore my previous post.

i am also facing a similar problem while using routerboard 750G as PPPoE client.

please publish once you get the resolution.

have you added IP Firewall NAT rule, that will masquerade your users?..

I have a similar problem with the rb750 with v4.11.

I can ping, nslookup, and even get the google page to display but I can get nowhere else.

When I try to visit a site like cnn.com, it seems the html title information gets returned but the browser says transferring and never shows the page. I tried a simple (html only) site and it took 20sec to load over a 1.5MB connection.

This all seems to have happened after centuryLink did something. They had an outage and now this is happening.

I can establish as windows pppoe client thru the bridged CenturyLink 660 and all works, websites and all. I setup another brand router and all works. I want to use the Mikrotik box, but for now it just isn’t working.

All help is appreciated.

This is the answer. You need masquerade out your WAN interface or by local network.

Hi,

Check whether you have configure outgoing interface as PPPoE interface in teh NAT configuration
